Our Focus of Training and Instructions
Our instructors at Five 10 Five Athletics believe that athletes learn best by doing and completing the action. This is achieved as instructors explain and demonstrate the various aspects of the game and how to correctly execute playing fundamentals.
Our Team
Sloan Walker, Director of Operations and Co‑Founder
Sloan brings a wealth of softball knowledge to Five 10 Five Athletics. She has extensive experience providing proven instruction on slapping, hitting, fielding, speed and agility.
Prior to Five 10 Five, Sloan was an assistant coach for the Sam Houston State Bearkats, where she led the team to finish 4th overall in the 2018 conference tournament.
While attending Ohio University, Sloan played 187 games in her four-year career as an outfielder. She led the team in hitting as a junior with a .336 average and 14 multi-hit games, finishing up her career with a .274 batting average.
Sloan graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Recreation Management. She also completed Ohio University’s comprehensive Strength and Conditioning internship program.
Sarah Huey, Director of Training Programs and Co‑Founder
Sarah comes to Five 10 Five Athletics with more than 20 combined years of experience playing and developing softball training programs.
Sarah most recently played for Northwestern State University (NSU) where she appeared in 38 games finishing her career at NSU with a .905 fielding percentage.
Prior to NSU, Sarah played at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). She started all 82 games during the two seasons she was there. Sarah was named to the All-conference team, leading the team with a .444 batting average, and a .942 fielding percentage to finish off her initial year. During her second season at ERAU she was named to the NFCA second team All-Region, All-Conference team where she ended her year with a .392 batting average, and .955 fielding percentage.
Sarah graduated from Northwestern State with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and is currently working on a Masters in Special Education with an emphasis in Behavior Analysis.
Peyton Coker, Trainer (Pitching, Hitting)
Peyton comes to Five 10 Five Athletics with a passion to teach, guide, and mentor young women to achieve their softball goals. Peyton attended Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) where she played all four years in D1 softball.
Prior to EKU, Peyton was a starting pitcher for The Woodlands College Park High School and an active player for the Cy-Fair Intruders.
While not at Five 10 Five, Peyton coaches the Magnolia Strikers 10U and 12U travel teams.
Jodi Hermanek, Trainer (Pitching, Hitting)
Coach Hermanek joins us with over 20 years as a Head Coach at the NCAA Division I level.
Known as Coach Herm, she is passionate about being a teacher of the game and helping athletes discover what their superpowers skills are for elite development and performance. As a best-in-class pitching and hitting coach at the highest collegiate levels, Coach Herm knows it is important for athletes to trust their mental and physical superpowers and use them to execute, adjust, and compete in the moment.
Most recently, as the head coach at The University of Pittsburgh in the ACC, Coach Herm has also led program successes at Ohio University and Southern Utah University.
Kylle Huey, Trainer (Hitting, Fielding)
Kylle brings over 11 years of softball experience—both as a player and a coach—to Five 10 Five. Her passion for teaching the game is evident in every aspect of her coaching.
A recent graduate of Trinity Valley Community College and a Tomball High School alum, Kylle played on the varsity team for all four years.
Her goal is to blend the best qualities of her own coaches into a unified, impactful program that supports players’ growth on and off the field.
Chrislyn Pena, Trainer (Hitting, Fielding)
Chrislyn brings over 12-years of playing and coaching softball experience to Five 10 Five. Most notably, she has successfully competed in USSSA Fastpitch Nationals, Colorado Fireworks Tournament, and Amateur Softball Association Nationals. Chrislyn was also a starting varsity player during her Joaquin High School journey.
Chrislyn has an affinity for helping younger athletes (ages 6-12) master their craft.
August LeBlanc, Trainer (Catching, Fielding, Hitting)
August brings over 20 years of playing and coaching experience to our team. His most recent achievement is founding and coaching the HTX Aces, an elite 8U select team in the Houston area.
Before his tenure with the Aces, he excelled as a starting catcher and third baseman for Brown Mackie College. Prior to his college career, he held the position of starting varsity catcher at Nimitz High School. Through these experiences, he has developed essential techniques to enhance softball programs and elevate athletes' skills.
Ashlee Gurley, Trainer (Pitching, Hitting)
Ashlee joins us with over 7 years of softball and coaching experience. Most recently, Ashlee played for the University of Arkansas (UA) at Rich Mountain as an infielder.
Prior to UA, she played as a starter for Logansport High School, Shreveport Times All-Area, All-District, and was an assistant coach at Logansport High School, where she helped athletes of all caliber elevate their softball skills.
Alyssa Miller, Trainer (Fielding, Hitting)
Alyssa played at Southern Arkansas University (SAU), where she successfully played in over 100 games. During her senior season, Alyssa led the team and conference in hits and was 2nd on the team in batting average with .352. She also won the Great American Conference (GAC) Player of the Week for consecutive weeks (the first in SAU history).
Alyssa is ready to bring her affinity for softball and passion for teaching your athlete(s) of all ages and levels.
Louie Matta, Co-Founder
Louie joins Five 10 Five Athletics with over 25 years of marketing expertise gained from diverse corporate and creative agency environments. As the founder of ORIGIN Brand Agency, he spearheaded innovative branding strategies for a wide range of clients. Prior to this venture, Louie held marketing leadership positions in multiple Silicon Valley based companies.
In addition to his professional achievements, Louie is deeply engaged in martial arts and defensive tactics, boasting proficiency in Tae Kwon Do, Escrima, Krav Maga, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Beyond the mat, he indulges his passion for motorcycles, having competed in the esteemed American Federation of Motorcyclists racing circuit along the West Coast.
He brings his passion to elevate your skill set to the next level to Five 10 Five.
Ryan Jurwicz, Co-Founder
Ryan is heavily involved in the softball community and takes pride in assembling a team of professionals to help athletes of all ages hone their softball skills. He was a baseball pitcher, having played for Mercyhurst University and Southern New Hampshire University.
Ryan brings his love of the sport and his dedication in helping others succeed to Five 10 Five.
